I would sometimes spend hours reading about a type of alcohol not in the least related to any piece I was working on, just because it fascinated me. Subsequent tastings and interactions with alcohol connoisseurs made me realise that the more I knew about the history of a drink, the more flavourful and complex it seemed. I wasn’t just tasting a spirit, I was being told a story.

It is truly incredible how much there is to learn about various types of alcoholic beverages. And I am a learner, like my readers, thirsting to know more. As the liquor cabinet bursts at its seams, my endeavour for the blog grows too.

In case you’re wondering Giggle Water is a colloquial word for alcohol and I thought it was rather apt. The world always seems like a nicer place after a few drinks, doesn’t it? As Frank Sinatra so eloquently put it, “I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.” You gotta love Sinatra.
